The dust has settled on Building Energy Control’s involvement in ESOS surveys and we can now take stock of our experience of the surveys and the impact we feel the legislation has had on businesses. We have embraced the challenge of undertaking these surveys and have found the whole process to be rewarding for all involved, especially those for whom we have identified significant energy savings throughout their organisation.

Minimum Energy Performance Standards (MEPS), also known as Minimum Energy Efficiency Standards (MEES), is a piece of legislation implemented as part of the Energy Act of 2011. This legislation means that as of April 2018, it will be unlawful for landlords to let properties in England and Wales which have an EPC rating of F or G.

Last week, Building Energy Control were proud to sponsor and attend the FM Inspired conference at the Jumeirah Carlton Tower in London. This was our first Facilities Management event under the guise of Building Energy Control after our recent name change from Eco Instruments Limited. FM Inspired was a great opportunity to mix with leading industry figures and exchange ideas and knowledge at a superb five-star venue down in the capital. Stewart Barr and Ken Carter (directors) were our company delegates for this event.
